Belén Moreno-Gil (1993) is a post-composer, dramaturg, and (ethno)musicologist.

Since 2018, her artistic practice has focused on the creation of contemporary music theatre and musical dramaturgy. Her works have been presented at internationally renowned festivals and institutions such as Wien Modern, Rainy Days Luxembourg, Kunstfest Weimar, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (Karlsruhe), Münchener Biennale, Gare du Nord Basel, and Kontakte Festival (Berlin). In 2021, her work Subnormal Europe received an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of media arts worldwide.

She holds a degree in Musicology and a Master’s degree in Musical Heritage from the University of Granada, where her research focused on the Zambomba tradition in Jerez and Arcos de la Frontera. In addition to her musicological training, she studied singing at the Conservatorio Superior Victoria Eugenia (Granada) and at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.

During the 2023/2024 academic year, she was (post)composer-in-residence at the Real Academia de España en Roma.

She is currently pursuing her artistic doctorate (Doctor Artium Program) at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, where she is developing the research project The Mesa Camilla as an Anarchive.

Desde 2018, su práctica artística se centra en la creación de teatro musical contemporáneo y dramaturgia musical. Se graduó en Musicología y obtuvo un Máster en Patrimonio Musical por la Universidad de Granada, donde desarrolló una investigación centrada en la Zambomba en Jerez y Arcos de la Frontera. Complementó su formación con estudios de canto en el Conservatorio Superior Victoria Eugenia (Granada) y en la Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.

Durante el curso académico 2023/2024 fue (post)compositora residente en la Real Academia de España en Roma.

En la actualidad, desarrolla su doctorado artístico (Doctor Artium Program) en la Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, donde investiga el proyecto La mesa camilla como anarchivo.
