Belenish Moreno-Gil (1993) is a post-composer, dramaturg and (ethno)musicologist.

Since 2018, her artistic career has focused on the creation of contemporary music theatre and musical dramaturgy. Her creations have been performed at Wien Modern, Rainy Days Luxembourg, Kunstfest Weimar, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (Karlsruhe), Münchener Biennale, Gare du Nord Basel, Kontakte Festival (Berlin) and Münchener Biennale (Munich). In 2021, her work Subnormal Europe was awarded an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica, the world's most time-honoured media arts competition.

She graduated in Musicology and holds a Master's degree in Musical Heritage from Universidad de Granada. In addition to her musicological training, she studied singing at Conservatorio Superior Victoria Eugenia (Granada) and Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.

Moreno-Gil is currently a member of the research group Urban popular music and feminisms in Spain: strategies, conflicts and challenges of women in contemporary musical practices (2000–2023) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. During the academic year 2023/2024 she was (post)composer-in-residence at Real Academia de España en Roma.

She has recently begun her artistic doctorate (Doctor Artium Program) at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, where she develops the research project: The Mesa Camilla as an anarchive.

Desde el año 2018 su carrera artística ha girado en torno a la creación de teatro musical contemporáneo y dramaturgia musical. Sus obras han sido interpretadas en Wien Modern, Rainy days Luxembourg, Kunst Fest Weimar, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (Karlsruhe), Münchener Biennale, Gare du Nord (Basilea) o Kontakte Festival (Berlin). En 2021 su obra Subnormal Europe fue galardonada con una Mención Honorífica en el Prix Ars Electrónica, el premio más prestigioso del mundo en el campo del arte digital.

Es graduada en Musicología por la Universidad de Granada, en la cual también realizó el Máster en Patrimonio Musical. Además de su formación musicológica, cursó el grado superior en la especialidad de canto en el Real Conservatorio Victoria Eugenia y la Universität für Musik und Darstellende Wien.

Moreno-Gil forma parte del grupo de investigación: Música popular urbana y feminismos en España: estrategias, conflictos y retos de las mujeres en las prácticas musicales contemporáneas (2000-2023) de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Además, actualmente es candidata al doctorado artístico (Doctor Artium Program) en la Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, donde desarrolla el proyecto de investigación La mesa camilla como anarchivo.

Durante el curso 2023/2024 fue (post)compositora residente de la Academia de España en Roma (2023/24).
