«IT IS NECESSARY THAT THE DAYLY WILL BECOME A HISTORY SO THAT THE HISTORY IS HISTORY OF ALL»
(FRANCO FERRAROTI 1991).
I have developed a taste and interest for discourses aside from the "History in capitals", as in the case of zambomba celebration. Thus, one of my main objectives is to contribute to the creation of a history that belongs to the whole society, regardless of class, race or gender.
My Master’s thesis
I read my Master’s thesis “Transformation and revival of a traditional celebration: the zambomba celebration in Jerez and Arcos de la Frontera (Cádiz)” with honors at Granada University.
The zambomba is a traditional celebration that has suffered different modifications during the last decades of de last century. This celebration develops in certain urban areas of Arcos de la Frontera y Jerez de la Frontera two cities in Cádiz and its main characteristic, like few others popular parties, is that it keeps alive a great repertoire that include blends Moorish romances with Christian octosyllabic four-line stanzas. The investigation carried out suggest that Jerez de la Frontera is the city, which has more significantly changed the original tradition mainly as a result of commercial sound recordings. Similarly, this city has taken advantage of the touristic appeal of the fiesta and presently odders new formats of the traditional celebration, like “concert” or “staged” zambomba.
